May Shows

Hello lovely fans and readers of this blog.

April was a whirl-wind month for me. I was in London, England. I MCed an event at my Alma Matter. I read at the Poetry Cafe in Covent Garden. I drank Pimms and pints and saw wonderful art. Back in Vancouver I had TWO Say Wha?! shows then another one in Victoria. I Dance Dance Party Partied and I got up on stage at Rookie Night a few times. Oh, and I think I did a story telling night as well. Suffice it to say- I’ve been busy!

May will be more of the same but (hopefully) more sane and steady.

Here’s what I’m up to this month:

Tuesday May 10

Teen Angst Night – Spring Cleaning Show

Cottage Bistro -4470 Main Street

$5 at the door or FREE if you sign up to read!

On May 10 Vancouverites are encouraged to dig through their boxes of memorabilia, their old notebooks and journals and dust them off to share their old angst on stage. You’ve held on to it for a reason: to share it at Teen Angst Night!

Teen Angst is an open mic comedic reading series where everyday people read from their embarrassing old journals, poems, songs, essays (and more). “Bloody Hilarious” – ION Magazine

Wednesday May 18

Say Wha?! Readings of Deliciously Rotten Writing

Cottage Bistro – 4470 Main Street

$5-10 at the door

At Say Wha?! engaging and charismatic performers put their comedic spin on some of the most cringe-worthy, embarrassing and painfully earnest writing in print.

Dance Dance Party Party

Every Thursday Night-  8:30- 9:30 PM

Mt Pleasant Community Centre – Dance Studio

$7 drop in- Ladies only

Dance Dance Party Party is a women-only freestyle dance session happening all over this great Earth. But what does that mean? Women from all ages enter a dark room with a bunch of strangers, dance their asses off to an eclectic mix of dance songs, and leave as friends, refreshed. It’s like reliving that late-night dance party from a sleep-over party you had when you were 10. It also just so happens to be incredible exercise that you don’t even realize you’re doing.

Rookie League

Sunday Nights 7:30 -9PM

Vancouver TheatreSports League – Granville Island

I have been fortunate enough to be cast on the Rookie League at TheatreSports where we perform improvised theatre. It’s lots of fun and the cast is hilarious. You might see me there on a Sunday night. Bonus – it’s only $5!
