Funny People and Bad Books

Screen Shot 2017-04-19 at 3.47.12 PM

This delightful show is back in one week! Say Wha?!

Have you ever read a poorly written novel and thought to yourself, who publishes this crap? Or come across a hilariously out of date self-help book in a thrift store? Perhaps you flipped through Sarah Palin’s/ Justin Beiber’s/ R. Kelly’s etc. autobiography and guffawed at her/his life story. Well, that’s what Say Wha?! is all about.

At Say Wha?! charismatic performers put their comedic spin on some of the worst writing in print.

VanCityBuzz:
“At $10 at the door, Say Wha?! is a steal for a great night out.”

Georgia Straight:
“But is it real comedy? It most certainly is. People love to laugh and there are many routes to arrive at that destination. Is it traditional? It most certainly is not. It’s not what the average person envisions when they think of comedy. But regular shows would kill for these kinds of laughs.”

What Is Novelty Act?

Bynoe and Hahn!

This event is so soon! Woohoo!

We know it’s been hard to describe this event. If you’ve been before we welcome your comments and insights.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect to happen at tomorrow’s Novelty Act:

* We will check in on what’s been going on in our lives (teaser – someone went on a few OKCupid dates)
* We will try to out re-act each other. That’s right it’s a re-act off!
* We will take questions from the audience. Want to know more about us? Need to know how to iron shirts? Should you break up with your best-friend? Just ask!
* Dance monkey dance – is there something you want to see us do? Now is your chance to demand it from us!
* And more!

NOVELTY ACT presented by Bynoe and Hahn
8-10 PM | $8 in advance $10 at the door

What is this all about?
Lots of things.
Sara Bynoe and Riel Hahn present a night of comedy, storytelling, and joy.
Why novelty act? Well… sometimes women in comedy get referred to as a ‘novelty act.’ Bynoe and Hahn think that’s bullshit, so they got together and have decided to do a night of whatever they want to do and if that’s a novelty act, so be it!
It’s Sara Bynoe and Riel Hahn on stage. And you! That’s it. That’s plenty!
Whatever this night is, we guarantee it will be fun! And we’ll probably wear lipstick.
