*** Special Edition of Say Wha?! Readings of Deliciously Rotten Writing***
Say Wha?! is a monthly comedy show where performers read from some of worst writing ever published.
Hands down the worst book with the greatest number of copies sold is that twilight Fan fiction trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey.
Sara Bynoe first covered Fifty Shades back in March and since then the book has exploded in popularity. Over the last six months Sara covered the remaining books in the series, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.
For this special edition she will be covering ALL three books and their worst parts.
Extra special (and saucy) readers to read the sexy bits:
Conni Smudge/ Chris Bolton
Chris Bolton has yearned for the spotlight ever since he was a boy. He would often put on shows in the living room after the big Family Sunday Dinner. Belting out the Commercial “Wonderful, Wonderful Wonder Bra-aw-aww” was his Fave. Later he attended Gastown Actors Studio where he was inspired under the tootle age of the phenomenal Jessica Van Der Veen. Developing a character named Conni Smudge has been a twenty year journey and it has been his most rewarding to date. “She” has taken him all over the Globe. Conni’s wit, charm and approachable nature has afforded her the honour of performing in the most unlikely of places. From the Biker Bars of Nanaimo to the Grand Theatres of Europe, Mz Smudge has done them all. Chris/Conni is a reporter with Outlook TV. It gives “Her” the ability to show the World what an amazingly Inclusive, Loving, Entertaining city Vancouver is! Visit Connie on Facebook.
April O’Peel
A Vancouver Burlesque fan favorite, April O’Peel has recently been seen at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas NV, where she was awarded “Most Comedic” overall. Choreographer and feature dancer for both The Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society and The Razzle Tassel Tease Show, April spends her time performing, teaching Burlesque classes and serving on the Board of Directors for the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival.
Emmelia Gordon
Emmelia grew up in Courtenay, BC on Vancouver Island before she attended Studio 58 at Langara Collage in Vancouver. As an independent theatre artist, Emmelia has discovered over and over, she is part of a very vibrant and dynamic community in Vancouver. She is continuously looking for new, exciting communities and cities to join forces with to discuss the importance of theatre/music/art/comedy. She spent the last 2 summers touring her two-woman show “The Progressive Polygamists” with Pippa Mackie, to sold-out house’s across Canada and this year producing the fringe hit “Smudge” with the Onsite Program at the Vancouver Fringe Festival.
