Recently my friend Claire told me what she believes the rules of life are.
1- Say yes to any invitation
2- Don’t sleep with everyone.
3- Dress for the job you want not the job you have.
It got me thinking, what have I learned from life thus far? Here’s what I’ve compiled.
1- Saying yes always leads to adventure and every adventure gives me a story.
2- See a doctor or a specialist before it gets worse.
3- Everyone feels like they are alone and that no one understands their pain at least once in their life.
4- Someone that can make me laugh always wins over a pretty face.
5- Ask for what you want. The worst thing that could happen is they say no.
6- Friends are people that come over to your house when you’re afraid to leave your house.
7- Watch out for short, blonde, drunk girls on New Year’s Eve.
8- Doing five minutes of intense abdominal work every day for five months is paying off.
9- Dancing makes everything better, except herniated disks.
10- People that can’t laugh at themselves are terrifying creatures.
11- You have to believe in yourself before anyone else will.
12- Worrying solves nothing.
13- Definitely – D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y
14- Never answer a cellphone while riding a bicycle. Especially if you’re on a hill. And the light’s changing.
15- Chocolate chip cookies are irresistible.
16- Reading is sexy.
17- Most challenges are never as difficult as you think they’re going to be.
18- Have less stuff. It’s easier to move around that way.
19- It’s always better to be over-dressed than under-dressed. Except if you’re at a punk bar.
20- There is always someone better off and someone worse off . So stop comparing, we’re all in this together.

Great post, Sara! I’m sort of inspired now to make my own list, though I reckon the list of things I know for certain is going to be a lot shorter.
